Door een bezoekster van MissLipgloss.nl werd ik getipt over Joyful Girl. Joyful Girl Natural Products is een merk/online shop die heerlijke verzorgingsproducten verkoopt: bad- en doucheproducten, reinigingsproducten, haarverzorging, cremes, moisturizers… En dat allemaal honderd procent natuurlijk.

Een beetje Lush-achtig, dus! Maar dan nog natuurlijker. Ze hebben echt vanalles, heerlijke badspulletjes maar ook gezichtsreinigers. Eigenlijk alles voor je lichaam. De prijzen zijn ook vrij laag; voor een facescrub betaal je $8,50, voor een deodorant $5,95 en voor een gezichtsmoisturizer $9,75.

Ik heb zelf drie bestsellers van Joyful Girl, namelijk de Calendula Facial Moisturizer en de Lash Conditioner, waar je hier al over hebt kunnen lezen.

Deze moisturizer is perfect voor meiden met een vochtarme en gevoelige huid. Er zitten antioxidanten in en verzorgende en kalmerende bestanddelen. Klinkt goed! Je krijgt twee ounces, dat is 56 gram. En nog geen $10 voor 56 gram moisturizer is echt superweinig! Voor een echt goede moisturizer (56 gram) betaal je in de winkel al snel 30 euro. Ik vind dit zelf echt een heerlijke moisturizer: trekt snel in, laat geen vettig laagje achter en voedt en hydrateert de huid supergoed. Ik gebruik deze afwisselend met m’n clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. Vooral voor onderweg is dit handig: ideaal, zo’n tube!

Dit is echt een heerlijke face wash! Ik houd normaal helemaal niet van schuim, maar dit is heerlijk zacht en maakt m’n huid niet minder droog dan ‘ie al is (dat doen die foams normaal wel). Hij kost $15,95 voor 5 ounces, dat is 141 gram. Hij haalt make-up van je gezicht af en reinigt je huid goed zonder dat het je gevoelige, droge huid nog verder aantast. Lekker spul!

Als je op zoek bent naar lekkere verzorgingsproducten, raad ik zeker Joyful Girl aan! Neem gewoon even een kijkje, er zit vast iets bij wat je lekker vindt. Ze hebben echt van alles! Superhandig is trouwens dat je op de shop kan selecteren wat voor huid je hebt bij elk productsoort, zodat je precies producten kan kiezen die bij jouw huidtype passen. Ideaal!

Verzendkosten naar Nederland hangen af van het gewicht van je bestelling. Je kan het beste gewoon de dingen die je wil hebben in je mandje doen en dan even checken hoe duur het is. Verzending duurt ongeveer 10 dagen, dus verwacht niet dat de producten binnen twee dagen al gearriveerd zijn!

Naast dat de producten super zijn, is Shelly, de eigenares van JFG echt een superlief mens. We mailen heen en weer over haar werk voor JFG, ze is er super druk mee. Ze werkt 15 uur per dag en ze zegt zelf obsessed te zijn van producten op tijd op de post te doen. Superlief! Het is allemaal hartstikke betrouwbaar en Shelly doet er alles aan om de kwaliteit van de producten hoog te houden en mooie, verse producten te sturen naar iedereen. Deze shop is een beetje vergelijkbaar met TPS, super persoonlijk en opgezet door een vrouw die zelf gek is van bodyproducten. Heel erg leuk 🙂

Ik vroeg aan Shelly of ze alle producten zelf maakt. In het Engels vertelde ze me een heel mooi verhaal:

I make all our moisturizers, lotions, creams, herbal remedies,scrubs, body butters etc from scratch. Our body washes and shampoos start with a base that I purchase from a reputable company. Then I add my infusions of herbs, oils, essential oils etc.

Some of my facial lotions and creams have taken me up to a year to formulate and get right. I infuse all my own oils, so I know the purity of them. So I have dozens of jars filled with organic herbs and oils that I take outside on a daily basis to sit in the sun. I also go out to shake each jar 3 times daily. Then bring them all back in the house at the end of the day. It takes up to 8 weeks for the oils to infuse properly. During this process the oils draw the medicinal properties from the herbs into the oil. I then strain the oils (which is a long process) to ensure clean oil. This oil is then used in making my psoriasis cream, soothing skin cream, facial moisturizers etc. The infusions are used in my bath and body oils as well. This is just a tiny portion of the process in making creams and lotions. Then researching the herbs that would benefit the specific condition that I would like to aide. Its important to know the function of each ingredient the correct percentage for effectiveness and safety and how they perform when interacting with the other ingredients. Its a long process , and not so many person know how hard I have worked on my products.We try to ensure that it is noted that we make products fresh. We really do not make hugh batches of product to sit on the shelf. That would make life easier, but that is not my idea of a fresh product or an effective one.

When I started JGN I had a mission and a passion for making the highest qualtiy product I could. I wanted everyone to be able to afford natural skin care. I had hundreds of emails about situations where people needed to use natural skin care due to skin conditions, medical concerns etc and couldn’t afford it. Then they found us and were so happy and received excellent results from our products. I have many people ask the question”How can your productss be any good they are too cheap” or “How can this be organic if its so cheap?” Because my daughter and I do everything ourselves it allows me to price my products as such. We make our own labels, business cards, brochures, marketing, purchasing, manufacturing etc. Because my passion is in assisting persons to heal naturally, and to educate people on the importance of natural skin care I do all that work myself, because I want the single mom, the college student, the elderly person to be able to buy natural and organic products. Natural products not only heal the skin, but they ground us with nature, they bring comfort, calming, soothing sensations into our lives.

There are many chemcials in our commercial products that are linked to depression, anxiety, panic disorders, etc.. Many consumers never make the conncection of their mental state with say using a deodorant. But, its the sad truth.. I’m here to try and make a difference to offer an alternative, to bring natural healing into the lives of those who’s health is failing. Thats what JGN is all about.

Ik vind haar echt een ongelooflijk inspirerend persoon en ze leeft echt voor Joyful Girl. Zo zie je maar dat je met een passie heel ver kan komen in je leven. Ze doet iets wat ze superleuk vind en ze wil andere mensen kennis laten maken met de wonderen van natuurlijke producten.
Kijk ook echt even op haar eBay pagina (link staat in de tekst van Shelly), daar lees je hoe ze er zo bij gekomen is om te beginnen met het maken van natuurlijke producten. Heel heftig! Helemaal door die verhalen krijg ik echt de neiging om AL m’n verzorgingsproducten te vervangen door spulletjes van Joyful Girl… Ik zit al te denken aan nieuwe order, hihi.
